Independent Game Development · Seattle, WA
Five projects. Multiple genres. One standard — 4K at 60. We build the games we want to play.
Studio
Fire Strider Studios is an independent game development studio based in Seattle, Washington. We build original titles across a wide range of genres — from arcade shooters and real-time strategy to multiplayer survival horror.
Every project in our pipeline targets 4K resolution at 60 frames per second, with system requirements scaled per title. We develop across Unreal Engine 5, proprietary C++ frameworks, and mod-based pipelines — using whatever the game demands.
We're lean, driven, and fully independent. The work comes first.
Portfolio
All titles are independently developed and self-funded, built to production quality standards from day one.
A host-only multiplayer survival mod featuring a full wave-based economy system — kill enemies to earn points, spend them on wall weapons, a randomized Mystery Box, and power-up drops. Waves escalate in count and aggression. SEMIDEAD is the active prototype for the Horrific Shooter standalone title, with core systems currently complete and expanding.
A modern reimagining of classic space invasion arcade gameplay. Enemy formations are rendered as 2D sprites moving through a fully realized 3D world — a deliberate aesthetic that pays homage to the source material while delivering a visually distinct experience. Wave patterns, escalating difficulty, and score-chasing mechanics true to the arcade DNA.
A tactical defense strategy game built on a proprietary C++ engine developed in-house. Players manage urban infrastructure, coordinate defensive units, and respond to escalating procedural threats against populated environments. The engine foundation also underpins INSECTICIDER, making it a core piece of the studio's technical pipeline.
A real-time strategy title built in Unreal Engine 5, co-developed with a partner studio. Large-scale unit management, faction-based gameplay with distinct playstyles, and dynamic battlefield conditions. Built on the Civic Defense C++ codebase and pushed into UE5's rendering pipeline for a high-fidelity large-scale tactical experience. Full Game Design Document complete.
The standalone evolution of SEMIDEAD. A multiplayer first-person horror shooter built around procedurally generated environments — no two runs are the same. Players navigate shifting layouts, face escalating wave-based enemy encounters, and scavenge for weapons and upgrades in co-op sessions built for replayability and sustained tension. Mechanics actively prototyped via SEMIDEAD.
